I have always wondered the same thing. Since I didn't know the correct pronunciation, I always referred to them as "those little packages of hard noodles with the little packet of stuff you mix with water." Last Saturday, I was working at a food pantry. They had lots of Ramen Noodles. I heard people refer to them as "ray-men," "rah-men," "row-man," and "romaine" (like the lettuce!) noodles! I think I will just keep buying and eating them and refrain from talking about them.

I've always said it "Raw-Men" and have always heard it pronounced "Raw-Men" as well. I've never heard of "Roman Noodles" so I'll go with mispronunciation for 200.
And I'll bet it all with Rock n' Roll

I've never heard of roman noodles. RAHmen. My mom calls em Raymen, but that's just her. I think that the "men" means noodles, so I think that saying ramen noodles is like saying spaghetti noodles or macaroni pasta...the noodle part isn't really necessary.
MP: What the heck. I'm in a hippie mood today.
