Question:
Starbucks, or Coffe Bean and Tea Leaf?

Which of these would you prefer to patronize? What do you order and how much do you usually spend?

I'm in Manila, and I prefer Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (The Starbucks coffee here has a "funny" taste, I think they burn the beans too much), I usually have either the Colombian Roast or the Moroccan Mint Chai Tea Latte, which would be around $3-$4. (Largest size - Tall or Grande)

*Yes, I meant to ask the GLBT community, so don't give me grief about "Why is this question here?", we all drink coffee or tea, right? There's no "gay" coffee or tea (Hold the comments about the "Frappuccino"!)

I'm a huge fan of the Starbucks Mocha. I usually go with any kind of frappuccino or the Grande Raspberry Mocha/Chai Tea Latte (iced on warmer days; hot on cooler days/mornings) in the spring/summer. Peppermint Mocha/pumpkin spice latte around the holidays. Cinnamon Dolce Latte in the winter.

The Moroccan Mint Chai Tea Latte does sound good though!

I like Gloria Jean. None of that coffee talk there like you have at Starbucks. Although I like Starbucks too, if I have alot of money to spend on it. $7 for a hot chocolate? please...go to Gloria Jean for $4.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

I'm in love with their Ice Blended Mochas and their Vanilla lattes.

And Starbucks coffee seems to be a little bit.....strong....

And I just prefer the earth toned decor at CB&TL, too....

I agree Starbucks is a little on the cremated side, but it makes for a good cappuccino/latté but in my opinion it makes a horrible cup of coffee (when not diluted with tons of milk)

I have a coffee roaster, and it's interesting to see that you get a much more bitter coffee if the beans are under-roasted than over. Also have a very good coffee machine, bean-to-cup and it grinds the beans for each drink, and makes the coffee under high pressure so you get none of the bitter oils from leaving the water in the coffee grinds too long. That, and Starbucks not existing in Belgium means that I only really enjoy coffee at home. I can make it as good or better than Starbucks without a problem.

As for Chai, well I'm half Indian so I know full well how to make chai properly! the one in Starbucks is nice, but VERY sweet. Never saw the Moroccan Mint Chai Latte you mentioned, that sounds great. I'll get some next time I'm in the US.
