Why are Gay people always celebrating and having parades?

Don't they have to be at work, instead of dancing in the streets. I hear they beat some old lady up. Are cowards or what, picking on a 80 year old lady?

I believe the old lady you're talking about wasn't beat up. The cross she was holding was torn out of her hands, right fully so
I can think up of a witty remark but I don't have time for you. You will never know what its like to have to fight everyday just because you love someone of the same sex.

I've never been to any of the parades or anything like that.
As for the 80 year old; unfortunately, in almost every group of people, you will have those who will resort to violence.
Westboro Baptist Church resorts to bitter, hateful protests against just about everything. They hate everybody.

Its a pride parade to try and get accepted by the people that are against us for no reason beside old outdated Jewish law in some poorly translated book for of metaphors and symbolic meanings...
The women who got beaten up by some gay people don't represent us... otherwise we have the right to call all your guys dickheads, thieves... gay bashes when I'm sure your not an ******** who likes to bash people up... but because your all hetero sexuals we'll tie you in with them... get over it...
Who then knows

well the only reason we gays have parades is to give us a real excuse to abuse and maim the elderly... - The over 80 only crowd...... they are the only people we are strong enough to whip.....
I live in a small town and HELL them there gays have 10 parades a month - they never work....
all i can and will say is... UNBELIEVABLE

We do not pick on 80 y.o. ladies. You are sadly misinformed.
As to why we have parades: Because we can; Anyone can. Even you. There's no law that says we can't celebrate.

Several groups express their pride having overcome something such as discrimination and being able to openly express themselves.
There are Irish-Americans having St. Patrick's Day parades and Italian-Americans having Columbus Day parades because they have been discriminated against due to their Catholicism and can now show that they are proud for who they are and what they have overcome...
There are African-Americans having MLK Day parades because they have been discriminated against due to their race and can now show that they are proud for who they are and what they have overcome...
... and there are gay people having their pride parades because they have been discriminated against and continue to be discriminated against, but are proud for what they have overcome despite the work that still needs to be done.

She was not 80, she was 69, she was not beaten up, a cross was torn from her hands, and she was coming into a crowd of people who are against her. Do you think a pro-gay marriage person would be treated well walking into the middle of an anti-gay marriage protest? I don't think so.

Oh thats so cute!!! To answer your question, celebrating life is far more fun than starting wars and killing each other. Thats so hetro. As for the old lady, she wasn't attacked. And if you are hanging out with violkent people with violent beliefs, Be prepared for occasional violence!! :@)
