Question:
Why is being gay going against nature?
?

I came out in my late teens, though, again... everyone knew I was a lesbian before then, I just wasn't aware of the label. So this was before I "came out". I think I was like 15 (24 now) at Whole Foods supermarket. This chick was wicked hot so I went over to talk to her and her mother was like "you are way too pretty to be a homosexuals, you cut that nonsense out, it is against nature and God." I remember my mom flipping out saying something like "Homosexuality is nonsense but God isn't? Every person in this world can see homosexuality, therefore making it fact and not nonsense, not everyone can see God, making it nonsense." Then she went on to say something like nature and God doesn't belong in the same sentence because God isn't a part of nature since it's supernatural. You would think I'd realize I was a "homosexual" at this point but no, that question didn't even form in my head, I was thinking "why is being a homosexual going against nature." I asked my dad that and he said "Oh it's not Princess. It's been around for as long as nature and the concept of Christianity is much younger than that. Look at the Greek Gods." So then I went over to my brother and asked him the samething and he said "No, stupid. Gay isn't going against nature because there's a lot of gay porn that makes a lot of money so think about it, if it's so unnatural, why would the industry be so successful? DUH."

Anyway, my parents always told me "mom and dad knows the truth" but I've never heard anyone else make the same arguments my family does where as, when I read answers in Yahoo Answers, a lot of different people make the same argument about the whole homosexuals going against nature. Did my parents lie to me?

no, youre parents actually did the right thing, and made you aware of the bullcrap people believe in.

the thing is, especially now, with the development of the mind and medical break throughs we cant be still stuck on religion. the main purpose of going against homosexuals is because back then, it "stopped" the reproduction of humans, but now there are such things as sperm donations, an increase in adoption and soon enough, the full Development of the ability of creating a child with two female eggs or two male sperms. its beautiful how man kind has moved forward in a series of just 100 years. and the creation of religion was to teach people right from wrong, not to discriminate against them or to instruct people to "rightfully torture" others for their sexual orientation. its the lack of education people bear nowadays because they think all they need to know is in the bible. the bible maybe was considered a "miracle" and all that was right back then, but we moved on from that and we shouldnt still think that it says EVERYTHING right. it might have said homosexuality is wrong, but not against nature. because if it was meant to be there as a book of peace, then it wouldnt encourage the murder of its people.

Thank your parents for me :)

Its thought by some to be against nature because it appears to go against an evolutionary imperitive to reproduce.

Now this idea is more complex when considering what homosexuality is and where it occurs, because it is found in nature and is unchangeable, there is also an argument that you wouldnt be this harsh against an infertile couple because you know there is nothing they can do about it, so its the same principle with gay people.

There is also the fact that IVF now means gay couples can reproduce, again it may not be the natural way but I doubt it goes against the context in which homosexuality being against nature is given.

As far as religion goes christians shouldnt have a problem, I mean Im catholic and I am gay and I know beleive God made me gay and loves me regardless.

However I suppose homosexuality going against nature is a tricky one in that, its hard to define what is natural, and deciding on whether it is or isnt is also difficult, I have my own opinion (being that it isnt unnatural) however I beleive others are entitled to theirs even if I dont agree with them.

What if the entire planet was gay from the beginning , you already know the answer we would NOT be here ...!

If a gay woman has the ability to produce egg's then there's nothing wrong with her physically , then has to be a mental thing , this also applies to a healthy man ,if he can produce sperm and he desires to go gay then he has a mental problem ... A man's sperm is design for the woman's egg and not for the rectum of another man , this way of life is a crime against nature and GOD ...

When i hear gay people try to equate their movement with the BLACK experience which sounds so stupid to me . Melanin and skin color has never stopped procreation homosexuality will..

The BIBLE warns us by saying " Woe unto them that call evil good "..

Some people are just like you, they grow up believing that "mom and dad know the truth", whether it's true or not.

If their parents told them it's not natural, some people will tell you it's not natural, without even thinking about it.

I think the fist definition of natural is something like "present in or produced by nature", so do you think an homosexual person is present in or produced by nature?

And as long as your parents believed what they told you they didn't lie.

There are 2 issues which turns somebody right into a gay. organic and organic abnormalities and ecosystem. very in many situations is only a manner animals discover to have affection when you consider that it rather is an physiological % only like ingesting. via loss of opposite intercourse companions and their approval nature shows a manner out. If everyone right here think of it rather is largely hypothesis and that i've got not got any evidences. First i might say it rather is rather logical and 2nd a examine with fishes grow to be made in Australia which proved needless to say animals adapt themselves and alter their sexual selection in "serious" situations. some areas of the object for u adult males. "It seems that social outcomes are rather significant to no remember if a bluehead wrasse turns right into a male or a girl whilst it rather is youthful," Dr Munday reported. "those fish are very delicate to their social atmosphere, which finally ascertain no remember if or no longer they'll grow to be male or lady." You adult males might desire to study slightly greater before talking issues like "ITS against NATURE" ROFL XD. an answer from a real PH.D. in technological understanding. besides i'm no longer gay only a rational guy.

If you truly want an answer, don't ask a question here because these people obviously don't read. If they can't read a small paragraph, you really think they'll be able to read a book. First of all, half of them think that your parents are against homosexuality but if they READ your story, they'll see that your parents are far left and is FOR homosexuality. Your family didn't lie to you, they make good arguments to why homosexuality isn't against nature. I would've thought they were a bunch of hippies but your dad sounds like some stock broker and your mom is a lawyer.

I'm really disappointed in the gays right now. You're supposed to be representing and you can't read a measly paragraph.

Let's clear this point, then, dear Andro.

Some people claim it is going against nature.

They are yet to present solid evidence on this, however...

Mostly they are closet theocrats pushing their religious views around.

Or biology class renegades pushing pseudo-scientific hogwash without taking modern societal rules into consideration.

Now, others claim it is perfectly natural.

The sexual behavior of many species proves this.

Our species included.

Makes one wonder why this 'God' would have made so many homosexual and bisexual beings, since he supposedly hates us.

Sometimes his worshipers jump the gun in interpreting his whims, don't they?

I'm a smart moth, so I know what I'm talking about.

In some fifteen years no one will even remember these 'arguments' against homo/bisexuality.

It's not, there's lots of homosexuality present in the animal kingdom, but I suspect this is more of a rant than an actual question :)

If you're actually looking for POV's that are different from yours, you'd be better served to ask this in R&S, but be careful what you say.

When many people, usually but not often religious, say being gay is going against nature. What they really mean is that it does not occur as often as heterosexuality. Personally I don't trust people who believe in sky faeries to actually know what is and isn't natural anyway.

It's not against nature...in fact, a large number of Mammals have gay relations, including Dolphins. People just use "GOD" as a scare tactic. It's ridiculous nonsense. Love is love no matter who it's between, and if there is a God- he should be all for that!!! :)

Alot of people say it is going against nature beacause when people "mate" it is suppose to be so you can make a child. A new humen being.

But. I do not think it is. If you feel that way it is natural for you.

If you are gay it is not going against your nature. The problem is some people think that there is only one nature. What is is.

Because the bible (which, at least in my opinion, is entirely unreliable for anything besides a paperweight) says so. There really is no other argument. You can raise all the logical arguments you want, but the bible bashers will always hold their archaic text and defy you to argue with the Lord.

Your parents didn't lie to you, they are simply blinded by a book written thousands of years ago which they chose to adopt as their primary influence.

supposedly, people are supposed to pair off male/female like the animals in the ark. to me that is crap. a person should be with who ever makes them happy. people who spew crap at you are just full of sh$t.

if it does against nature, then why are there animals who pair off female/female or male/male? animals are nature.
2010-01-30 06:34:39 UTC
Animals can be gay too, so being gay isn't a creation of mankind, so, i'd say it is natural.

there are actually 1000+ species of animals who displays homosexual behavior.........that seems natural to me
2010-01-30 06:41:51 UTC
They didn't necessarily lie, they just passed on an inaccuracy that they themselves were taught by someone else.
2010-01-30 08:12:47 UTC
OK

1. animals can not be gay dumb ***

2. God is against it and he created nature

3. I dont see how people can just not care if some1 is gay......its like not caring if some1 is a murderer
