Hey :) okay, so my best friend of 9 years is a lesbian and I was absolutely head-over-heals in love with her and she didn't know it because she had no idea that I am bisexual. But I FINALLY got up the courage to tell her, and to make a long story short, we started dating officially today :)

Anyway, now to my question... I want to do something special for her, but I don't know what! Her birthday is coming up in a few days and for the past few years I have done a variety of things (one year I threw her a surprise party, and for the past few years I have set up going out to dinner with all of our friends). However, this year I want to do something special just us, I definitely want to take her out to eat but I want to do something else as well. I am making her a scrapbook of all the memories we have had together throughout the years as friends (sort of a symbol of our new relationship), and I am getting her the new ipod, but to do something else as well... I want it to be something different and creative that she will never expect. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

CONGRATULATIONS !!!!

You must be flying high on happiness. That's so great.

One year I dressed myself up in a make-shift "glamor" outfit with heels, spider-web stockings, a fun feather boa.....You get the idea.

I played up the part too. She was pretty surprised since I'm kind of boyish.

Have lots of FUN -- the time yours.

You could take a picnic to the beach, or take her somewhere with a good view and bring a sleeping bag for cuddling. Just do something simple where you can be alone and appreciate each other. But if you're looking for a gift to get her, I suggest you should make something yourself, like sewing her a pillow, or making her soap/bathsalts. Hope all goes well. (:

I suggest something sentimental and sweet. Dinner at your favorite restaurant is nice...somewhere very dim. Then... you can do what my girlfriend and I did for our anniversary... I surprised her with a fondue set and we made cheese and chocolate fondue with a variety of different things to dip it in (cheese: celery, apples, broccoli, bread/chocolate: strawberries, oranges, marshmallows, pound cake, etc . The main part was the chocolate because she loves chocolate. It was nice and romantic, but very simple. A fondue set is not that expensive either... $20??

if she has a good sense of humor you can get all of ur good friends to ambush her with nerf guns when you pic her up then you all go see a movie of something then just the two of you go to diner.
