Not true. What you just described is about transexual people. Gay is a word for a male who loves or is in a relationship with other men and lesbian means a female who loves or is in a relationship with other women.

The original definition of gay, is happy or joyful. Why people started using it for homosexual males is beyond me. I think "fag" worked just fine. Gay now means a male that has a prefers sexual relations with another male. Lesbian is by its original definition, a female that prefers sexual relations with another female (though how they do it is beyond me! They seem to be missing a very important body part for such activity). Bisexuals just ain't picky! They'll have sex with either gender. Celebets (incorrect spelling) have no sexual relations at all.
