I'm a moderate, really. There has to be an equal balance, in my opinion.
I support limited government interference with the personal lives of it's citizens, but I also support social programs. Without some of these programs, some people wouldn't be able to make it month to month. I believe that in order to have a good nation where it's people all feel equal (even if they aren't), that the nation should do what it can to help it's own citizens. In my view, it's rather hypocritical for our nation to spend millions of dollars on foreign aid, when there are people in our own nation starving and homeless. It just doesn't seem right. It's about the willingness to open your heart to your neighbor. We are only as strong as our weakest link, after all.
I am pro-choice, but against abortion. For me, it's not an acceptable choice to make. But, I can not in good conscience place my own sense of morality onto others. That isn't how this nation works.
I base all of my opinions on issues on my own morals. I don't listen to pendants to gain any sense of where I should stand (most have their own agendas to push). I take all things into consideration with each issue, and weigh them against my morals and the US Constitution.
I am a FIRM defender of the principles that our Founding Fathers took so much time and care to devise. These were great men and some of human histories greatest thinkers. I have even taken the time to read their own works. It has allowed me the ability to gain much insight into their beliefs and ideas for our nation.
