Question:
Why aren't more gays libertarian?

Obama, Biden, Clinton were all against gay marriage.
CA, a blue state, voted down gay marriage
GOP has a stupid "sanctity of marriage" amendment in their platform

soooo, considering libertarians believe in live and let live in personal matters, why aren't more gays turning to the LP?

I think everyone should be a libertarian...I am.

Obama, Biden and Clinton all support civil unions, and Biden has said himself that gay marriage will eventually be legalized regardless of what anyone thinks.

The entire state of California did not vote against gay marriage, and it could possibly be overturned by the state, so try not to generalize.

As for libertarian ... sorry, but the reality is, that's a waste of a vote, because no libertarian candidate will ever be elected to a major position. I also don't agree with all libetarian policies.

If Republicans weren't obsessed with this "family values" crap, and they instead stayed to their original platform of small government, low taxes and free trade, then I would most likely be a Republican over Democrat or libertarian.

Because they don't play decent music in the library. ;p And LPs are a bit dated.

I enjoy LP, but it's still just a mud. So let me just code with a mush instead.

Maybe when the libertarians offer free lube, cheap beer and all you can eat tacos... they'll be more of a line. At least the republicans have catering and the democrats host potlucks. So what are the libbies bringing to the buffet?

....

One need not adhere to voting for the candidates of their party, just believe in some facet of which their party represents.

Belonging to a political party is more representative of a shared philosophy and of ethics than of who one votes for.

I'd have to agree with Random... it's kind of a wasted vote. If the Libertarian party were more popular and as big as the other two primary parites, then I'd definitely go for it.

I totally contradict myself though, since I voted Independent a few weeks ago. lol

Good question. I think folks think they are throwing their vote away because the other two parties are too big to vote against. I think it would be a good thing to have another party in the mix.
