Different countries have different policies, in china even single people can adopt children. In the USA only Florida totally bans gay/lesbian adoption, in other states it varies by county. It is often harder for anyone to adopt in the USA. In lots of other countries it's easier, sometimes it's because of that countries ideas about sexuality, sometimes it's because of the number of children that need to be adopted. So it really depends on how far your willing to go, and what kind(age/race/heath) of child you want. Here's a web sight with more info. Good luck.

Hi i can say from experience as my partner and i have just recently had a child from conception and we are now getting ready to adopt another child. Although i am not sure where you live i can only advise you that in many countries such as australia you can't adopt without passing a cert. criteria such as being in a hetro relationship and being married for so long and also haveing a cert. amount of income. The way we are going is to finst FOSTER a child as it more than likely turns out to be long term and if it works out for both you and yer partner and the child then as long term passes you will be given the option to adopt. I am not sure how this would work in other countries but i do know this is how it is in Australia. You must check out your local goverment bodies to find out the proper channels to go down...always ask questions and seek the advice through the internet or just calling a local goverment agency! Hope this helps and good luck!!
