I'm pretty shy, and I'm not looking for hook ups, or anything like that. Maybe somewhere where I can hang out and be around other gay people. Not even necessarily my age - though I'm interested in book stores, cafes, parks, stores, market places, restaurants and maybe movie theaters where gay people might tend to be more. I'm not sure if these places even exist here in Chicago. I'm just visiting for the month. Kind of indie guy, skinny and normal looking. I don't want to be exclusively part of the night life crowd. Especially when I'm just here on my own. Maybe sound snobby, but I want somewhere to be during the day where I can people watch and maybe interact with gays in a normal day-to-day gay community life style kind of way. Any suggestions?
(That could also include gay events like films or social gatherings - not necessarily anything flashy or provocative. In San Fransisco, I visited the Asian gay community Drag Queen Lip Sync performance, and I had a lot of fun. I'm white, but I'd be into what ever color of activity I could encounter!)
