Does this mean my son is gay or bisexual?

My 17 year old son's school had a talent show tonight and he preformed in it with his best friend. They sang "Lucky i'm in love with my best friend" and the way they looked at each other it seemed like they felt every word they were singing and near the end they held hands. My son had one girlfriend at age 15 and that was short lived; his best friend is gay and I thought he was single not sure now. Does this mean my son is gay or bisexual?

Don't assume, openly ask him. He's your son, and as a parent you can ask him, but just don't pressure him into saying it. You know, ask not demand. Not sure how you feel on "Gay's" but even if you do get mad at him for being gay, if he is that is, it won't stop him. If that is how he feels towards someone, you should respect it. And if not, you may have a rebelling child on your hands.

You've answered your own question. Your son was in a talent show. He was "performing" not making a lifelong declaration in a code that only you can understand.



At 15 your son is expected to have brief girlfriends. Did you marry your first boyfriend that you might have had at 15? And your son can have gay friends. Last I heard, being gay is not spread through friendship.



Leave your son alone. Really. You stand to do more harm than good.

No foolish haha. I believe that homosexuality outcome from another balance of chemical compounds, hormones, and many others within the mind. In any case, chemicals/hormones control the love and appeal all of us think. It might only make experience for that to be one-of-a-kind in gay folks. I do not feel there's a homosexual gene, but perhaps particular genes do impact sexual orientation. However a specialized gene for it? Nah. You are not gay just for the reason that your son is gay. Please don't worry.

Great actors can make it seem like every emotion they say they feel is true so this does not mean he is gay or bisexual. And if he is, there is no need to worry. There is nothing wrong with him and if he feels the time is right, he will tell you.

You really should ask him but don't be insensitive about it because if he is gay then he'll feel pressure and if he's not then he'll be offended that you asked him such a question in the first place.

To me the performance seemed questionable but regardless of that you are his father so hear him out and just be prepared for what he has to say.
