**Please do not take my usage of "everyone" literally.

When I tell someone I am bisexual, they always say I don't know what I want. They are very wrong, because I am very sure of what I want. I have been in love with a female and was very happy. I have had sex with a female and enjoyed it very much. I have been in love with a male and was very happy. I have had sex with a male and enjoyed it very much. I do not prefer one gender over another. This makes me bisexual. So why does everyone tell me I haven't discovered what I want no matter how much I try to explain?

[[BTW, no I am not pansexual. I am very far from it. I like men who know they are men, and women who know they are women (even though I like feminine and masculine women).]]

Cause not that many people really understand just how complex sexuality really is. For some reason most people just think it's either straight or gay, with no middle ground.

A nice picture from the internets!

Well sometimes bisexuals are confused and it's a transition state for them as opposed to a destination as it is for others.

People just have to realize that some people are bisexual when they're on the fence and some people are bisexual for reals.

It's for many reasons.

1.) Many young gay people try to convince themselves that they are bisexual to "lessen" the blow. As long as they have the chance of being "normal", they hold onto it for dear life. (This would be where the "Confused" stereotype comes from.)

2.) Some girls like to makeout with other girls to get male attention.

3.) Some people are just ignorant.

well, i Am pansexual, so i don't label them as confused XD.

buuttt, some people just can't empathize, and just because they can't, they don't even try to understand it. i think people have a lot of trouble with it as well because they're still a bit stuck on the gender role thing - if you're into women, you're probably masculine; if you're into guys, you're probably feminine, crap. if you're into both, i think they think you're confused about what gender You are, as well, at least in expression.

Because they are the ones that are confused. So due to their inability to grasp bisexuality they try to claim bisexuals are the confused ones.

Because they see things as either/or and can't accept that sometimes the answer is "both."

Because they dont/cant feel what you feel.
