I need to write a 3-4 page Argument Essay. I am opposed to the legalization of gay marriages.I need some articles that give some statistics on this topic.I need to consider social,economic,ethical,and legal issues. I need some help!!!

I think you can come up with those on your own, given your vociferous disapproval. Let me give you what I believe are fundamental reasons why gay people SHOULD be able to get married.



Fact one. Gay people are humans, just like straight people.

Fact two. Article 16 of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights states clearly that "Marriage is a human right".

Fact three. Based on the above facts, logic dictates that as humans, gay people should be able to get married.



I'm actually helping you here.



If you can disprove all three facts above, or put another way, if you can prove that:

1. gay people are NOT humans

2. there is no such provision in the UN Declaration of Human Rights

3. since gay people are NOT humans, they are excluded from the list of human rights, and therefore logic would dictate that they cannot "receive" the rights "awarded" to straight people, the only ones considered "humans".

then you will have your essay complete and correct!

against my better judgment I am going to assume that you are required to write both sides of the argument as I was in school and help you out but understand that I am doing so ONLY for the sake of your literary instruction and NOT because I feel this is a paper worth writing.



as far as social issues are concerned you can always use the majority republic argument which is to say that LGBT people are generally the minority therefore the government must serve the will of the majority.



As far as legal issues are concerned many states still have anti-sodomy laws and it could be argued that in the absence of sodomy (which is defined as any non-procreative sexual act) a gay marriage cannot be consummated and thus would never be fully valid.



These are pretty weak arguments but as you can probably understand I wasn't trying very hard.

You're really asking this in the wrong section, but here's what I can think of: It's against some religions, homosexuals can't procreate and it's unnatural. Keep in mind that this topic will be very hard to defend because there are strong arguments against every one of those points; not everyone has the same religious beliefs, straight, infertile couples are still allowed to adopt, and homosexuality occurs in nature, therefore it cannot be unnatural.
