Are some people really born gay?

It doesn't make sense to me
Or is it, no offense, honestly, only gay people say that?
How could you be born gay?

With all the misery society puts gay through, do you really think it's a choice? I don't believe there is a "gay gene", because there would be no offspring to pass it on, but there are different chemical balances in the brain, and it is well established that sex is in the brain, not the organs.

No, not some people. ALL people.

No one wakes up one day and says, "I think I'm going to like men, not women!" or vice versa. People claim it's a choice because they have clouded views on this sort of thing. Why would anyone choose to be gay, particularly in countries where being gay is PUNISHABLE BY DEATH?

Depends on the person. My girlfriend's parents tell her regularly that she is going to hell because she is gay. She tried everything she could think of to try and change her sexuality. As for me, it was more of a choice. I was sexually abused as a child and have a very difficult time trusting men which has lead me to be more attracted to women. I don't care that people discriminate against me because of my sexuality because I know I'm happy this way.

It's not a conscious decision to be gay at all - infact for me I tried to be anything but when I first discovered it. It's not a case of saying 'okay I'm gay now' but more of a 'I'm so attracted to that person, can't keep my eyes off them, go giddy when you brush their arm'. Just remember your first teen crush and how giddy you felt about that one person - well it's like that exactly for a gay person, only with someone of the same sex.

I think when people say they are born gay they mean it's like being born blonde or brunette - it isn't something you choose - it's just how it is: you just are blonde, and you just are attracted to the same sex.

You can not choose your sexuality. People are born gay, straight, bisexual, etc... it's a different wiring in the brain. You can't change your sexuality either. You can think you're one sexuality, but actually be another, but you can't change who you really are.



If it was a choice, I doubt there would be many gay/bi people because of prejudice and discrimination.



It is not a disease, mental disorder, etc. It's who you are. If it was a choice, there would be good evidence for it, which there isn't.

Because everyone who is gay was born that way. There is no changing who you are. We did not choose this. I did not chose to like guys just as I am sure you did not choose to like women.
