why would he stand me up? He's the one who asked me out?

I am so confused. and a little mad. so sorry if i am venting. So i met this really great guy through a really distant friend one night. We had some good conversation and he was really great, just an intelligent and funny person. He got my number and then i left the club. So, the next day he texts me and we are talking yada yada, he asks me out. it doesn't work for me and i was leaving for thanksgiving in LA a couple of days later. so i tell him i'm sorry, but i definitely want to hang out with him so when i got back i would set something up. So i get back and i schedule something for this really really cool VIP event at Art Basel. Like this was a big deal, i had to pull some strings to get my name and a guest on the list. So it was confirmed. We were going to go together. I was going to pick him up. So it's about 30 minutes before the event and i hadn't really talked to him all day, so i call. no answer. I got really annoyed and called like 10 times. He is a school teacher and it was a Friday so i assumed he was just tired and sleeping. Ends up, i never get a hold of him, and i just take my good friend who is always down to party. We have the best time, we see Paris Hilton and we get really drunk. So, i'm a little mad but not really since i had a nice time in the end. So later that night he texts me and says he was super sorry and he fell asleep, etc. So i make another plan for us to just grab drinks after he got off work. Super easy for both of us, we could grab dinner if we wanted to, or just have a drink and go separate ways. He is super down for it and we make a plan. The plan for drinks was today. SAME situation. an hour before we had agreed to meet i text him and ask him if we were still good for drinks and that i hoped his day was fine. He never texted me back. So i called him. no answer. So, i don't know what i did? He and i would text all the time in between these plans. so it's not like he forgot. He has the option set on his phone so i can see if he read my message or not and it says that it is unread. BUT, on instagram he has added like 4 new pictures of bacon wrapped dates. (maybe i shouldn't like him.) I don't know, he just told me i was cute and nice and he wanted to hang out with me. I just wish if he didn't want to hang out he would just tell me, or make it obvious that he doesn't want to without telling me. I'm pretty sure i am done with this dude. What do you guys think?

After reading your long text I get the impression that this guy is leading you on. He is not going to turn up for whatever reason. You have done whatever for him but there is no response. So what do you do? The first thing is that you forget him. The excuses he uses are so yesterday. Nobody comes up with that sort of crap any more. Is this guy married? I only ask because he sounds like he is. For a school teacher to keep forgetting to call back, makes me wonder what do the children in his class remember after he has taught them? Don't be fooling yourself with this guy. You have plenty of friends to be getting on with. Don't be messing around with guys that are not sincere. I can understand that you may have been carried away with this guy, or would have liked to have carried on a bit of a relationship with him. As you can see he never showed, and it never materialised. Whether you wanted to hang out with him or not obviously it was not to be and you are better off, because he was not sincere, and that is the making of any relationship. Trust and sincerity.
