I'm am not saying that this is the real reason, it is just a theory. In a physiology class i took once, we had a discussion on the matter and it was my professors belief (along with others) that it is a result of a childhood experience. Example, a woman may have bad experiences with men, while women are always kind to her...or an unnatural relationship with a mother can make a male child turn to men to experience a sexual relationship. I know the last one didn't seem to make since but I'll explain...most men don't see their mothers sexually, if a mother/son relationship becomes 'too close' lets say a son may begin to believe that this is a normal relationship with someone he's not attracted to, therefore when he does want a sexual connection he will turn to a man, someone that may have characteristics of his mom but isn't a woman (because he believes that is wrong)...there are many more examples of this. I could go on and on about the different experiences one could have to make their preference lean towards the same sex.

It is also the same reason why you may prefer blondes over brunettes..its all about those first years of life.

And something deeply rooted into your childhood becomes a part of who you are and is VERY difficult if not close to impossible to change.

Again this is just a theory, I think it is possible but no one really knows for sure.

Just be happy with who you are. And don't worry about others. They can worry about themselves.

I don't know if I was born bi, but I never became bi either. I've just been me for as long as I can remember, and when I got older I realized that bisexual was the word for people like me. I know that explanation is kinda vauge and simplistic, but that really was all there was to it. I'm sorry that I don't have any kind of long drawn out explanation for it, because I feel like that is what you want. I didn't make it, buy it, choose it, or birth it, it just was.

And It is a wonderful and beautiful part of who I am as a human being that brings me comfort, joy, and personal fufillment. I wouldn't change it for the world. :-)

I am gay! I have always had a desire to be with men. Even in middle/high school. I have tried dating some girls, but always end up back with the men. I am not gonna say I was born with it b/c I was brought up in a Christian home and I know we aren't born that way, but I do feel it is an emotion so deep that as of yet we don't have the technology or know-how to explore.

you ARE born gay....

first, in a study of prenatal hormone testing, testosterone injected into pregnant sheep during the 1st two trimesters results in the female offspring exhibiting gay behaviour... second, in a double-blind study done, the hypothalamus in gay men is actually different than that of straight men.

AND for those who are misguided-

childhood sex abuse does NOT cause you to BE gay...

it MAY cause SOME ppl to ACT gay ( if they are now scared of the ppl whos gender matches thier abusers) but that is NOT the same as being turned gay from abuse.

After all- we live in a society FILLED with abuse survivors and if we ALL 'turned gay" thered be NO STRAIGHT ppl left!

Long time ago, I stopped concerning myself about "why" and started loving myself for being gay and accept levels of reponse ability equal to the task. Gosh! I'm glad I did that. I've been happier day by day ever since.

i am bi, so my answer to this is that most are BORN with it. I always liked guys and girls... but i do know that some ppl are scorned and turn the other way- and some stupid ppl do it because they think its cool.. ( im serious.. there are some dimwits that do it as a trend)..

but i wasnt scorned or use it as a fad.. im just naturally like that

Homosexuals are chosen first on talent, then interview, then the swimsuit and evening gown competition pretty much gets rid of the rest of them.

The same reason as to why other people are straight. They just are; there doesn't have to be a reason for everything.

For me it doesn't matter how, when, why, or what for.

I am Gay. I accept it. In Fact I enjoy it.

I've been with women, and no offense, but they did nothing for me.

I am sexually atrracted to other men, and that's just fine with me.
