Some parents bring their very young children to gay pride celebrations, while other parents bring their teenage children to the celebrations.

Probably to show them gay is just another variation of human sexuality and is nothing to be feared or bigoted against. There are a lot of things at pride festivals that have nothing to do with actual sexual acts and are not provocative or sexual in nature. A lot of it is just people getting together with others like them. Same as any other cultural celebration such as St. Patrick's day parades or up here in North Dakota were people have events that celebrate their Norwegian heritage.
I now have a question for you. Why do straight parents bring their very young children to Mardi Gras or Bourbon Street in New Orleans or to Las Vegas? Those venues would seem even less appropriate so I am assuming you asked that question as well but maybe I missed it because it is in another category?

Our celebration often has infants in strollers with two mommies or two daddies. But straight supporters also bring their children so that the kids can see gays are not to be feared. These children will grow up associating gay people with a fun day in the park, with music and festivities.

So, it's only like taking them to a regular event. I mean the Pride in my city is a very family orientated event, they have stalls for kids to do paintings and that and get their face painted, etc. The parts that aren't suitable for young kids are in enclosed tents and are 18 only admittance. Provided the Pride event the kid is going to isn't X-rated in nature I don't see the issue with young kids going to Pride Parades. It just opens their minds at an early age.

The young children are just going to see it as a fun place with a bunch of pretty colors. They don't really understand when they're young but as they grow older they will understand more and more about what the parade is really about.

I prefer the smaller pride celebrations as they tend to be more family friendly.

Because they want to raise them to accept everyone rather than just judging everyone based on one thing about them. After all, it's no different to taking your child out anywhere else: it's both a social event and a cultural eye opener.

good question. it is clearly an adult theme.
they probably want their children to be open to the idea of equal rights
by itself that would be a laudable goal but with the nudity and open sexual demonstrations it just makes me wonder if they thought it through
personally I don't agree with sex in the streets but I know it goes on and I certainly wouldn't condone it for kids under 14
and they say we will make bad parents

Goodness, knows, Jon. But they do, and my wife once saw two of those "gays" holding hands. Kiddies could see that! She also saw two men (one in military uniform !) kissing on the platform of a railway station. Kiddies DID see that, she says. But that was in Germany, not here!

I'd worry more about the idiots who bring their five years olds to see an R-rated movie.

Because they're fun, and child-friendly, and there's nothing wrong with gay people

Maybe because parades are fun for all?

If the child is straight, and they bring them to it they're either
A. Trying to Experiment with their Child
Or
B. They're trying to change their childs Sexuality
