How do you feel about gays using "f*g" and "f*ggot* casually or as terms of endearment to their friends?

I've noticed quite a few of the guys who are gay at my school use f*g/f*ggot fairly casually and sometimes as a term of endearment on their friends (e.g. "what up f*ggots haven't seen you guys in ages), sort of similar to the way many young black people use the n-word.

How do you feel about this? Should it not be an issue as long as it isn't use "hatefully", or should nobody be allowed to say the word and should usage always be discouraged?

When a black guy says n*gger, it's no big deal, black people even call me that sometimes. but if a white guy says it?! Holy **** call the morgue!

If it is especially speaking approximately homosexuals or utilising it in that context, sure. But I'm in my 30's and I do not know the way matters are with the adolescence now however within the eighty's and ninety's, I'd say eighty% of the time the ones phrases have been used, they weren't used to consult homosexuals. They took on a brand new that means within the eighty's and ninety's and so they each simply essentially intended "lame" or a few non-exact insult like that . They were not especially regarding a character's sexuality. So possibly matters have reverted again to earlier than the ones instances while it used to be all approximately sexuality (I do not know the slang of modern teenagers), but when it is nonetheless just like the eighty's and ninety's meanings, then I do not feel it's regarding any institution of folks almost always and should not be stopped. If you appear on the first definition anyone gave of "f*ggot" on city dictionary, it says "In those instances no longer fairly used if anyone is fairly a gay as a rule used as a substitute of calling anyone dull or a loser". I do not know if this used to be anyone my age who wrote that, however that is what I feel of while I feel of the ones two phrases.

The same way when women call each other bitches. It shouldn't be big deal unless the word b*tch is coming out of straight man's mouth. The same rule applies to when someone calls you f*ggot, if the other guy is gay and your friend. Then it's no big deal.

If it's obviously not meant to be offensive, I don't really care what my friends call me (regardless of orientation), and I don't think twice about what I call them. If we both know it's coming from a place of love and not hate, then why does it really matter? It's a string of letters, like any other word.

If it's used in a jokey/positive way, regardless of who says it, then I don't have a problem with it. It's just when the word is used to offend people.

I use it all the time. Just a joke between friends.

Also, I don't care whenever someone else uses it against me. I usually just agree with them. However, when they use it against my friends...All hell is about to break loose.

Of course, wouldn't take it from people I don't know - but such terms give me a kick from guys I know/like. (also like "pu__y boy" and "c_m sl_t" when we're into it = there compliments!)

friends **** with each other, (not literally in they're case rofl) but still, i use the term "what's up you bastard?" in a friendly way to friends, its not negative and if they were to get offended then you simply apologize, i never had to apologize though.

That's a term of endearment for the pedophile crowd. Use it freely to identify yourself.
