Medical records are private and you should not have legal access to them. However name changes, and birth certificate, changes are a matter of public record.

So with today's technology going 100% stealth is all but impossible.

Assuming this is a hypothetical question, if you are adept with computers, know a little bit about private investigating, and can act, you can find out just about anything about anyone, (excepting people like the President, & other high ranking officials, CIA, NSA etc.) There are armies of people charged with securing private records of people who could be targets of terrorists, and nutjobs. Although rare, even people in witness relocation programs are sometimes found.

Moving to a foreign country gives you a much greater chance to "disappear" or "start over", so a transsexual person who picks up & leaves the U.S., and takes on a new name & identity in an out-of-the-way part of the world where technology is limited has a pretty good chance of never being outed.

Nowadays, people are WAY too lax in sharing personal info online. Blogging under your real name has to be the dumbest thing there is. How many sites use security challenge question like "what is your pet's name?" Then a person puts a picture of themselves with their dog on their MySpace page, leaves the photos open for anyone to view, you go take a look at the comments under the photo and find one from the person's friend that reads, "oh, you look so cute with scruffy."

Trying to go 100% stealth was hard before the internet existed. Today, it's impossible. The sort of records you are referring to in this question are quite difficult to obtain without a court order or some Academy Award winning acting. Doctors are well aware of the Doctor/Patient confidentiality laws, and they won't supply you with any information. Any monetary transaction done with a credit card leaves a paper trail, but that doesn't mean you have a right to look at that paper trail. Even cash is not 100% anonymous because of serial numbers, DNA testing, etc.

All this said, unless you have a legitimate legal reason and the proper court orders to obtain the information you've listed, you have no right whatsoever to look at it. I pity the person who ever tries to invade my private life in such a fashion.

Yeah, sometimes that's possible. Part of it depends on the laws in her area, and part of it depends on what she did before transitioning. For example, I'm a biologist and have presented projects that have my given name on it, even though it's no longer my legal name, and are in the university database permanently.

Prescription records, psychiatrist bills (though usually, if people go through counseling for trans letters, they see a psychologist), surgery bills... those are already private anyway. Every person's medical records and information are private property and protected in the United States under HIPPA and other regulations.

Also, no reputable doctor will reveal information about their patient to anyone except another doctor who has that patient, to an insurance company, or to a court if subpoenaed. That's HIPPA too.

If a trans woman wants to go stealth, then the documents that she would be concerned about would be phone book listings, yearbooks, social networking sites, church bulletins, arts patronage lists, local 10K races, et cetera. Also birth certificates, to a lesser degree.

But no person would have their medical records or prescriptions out on the internet. That is a very clear violation of medical ethics.

It sounds to me like you are trying to dig up information about someone. That is also unethical, and deeply inconsiderate.

A transgender woman is a woman, same as a transgender man is a man. We don't "lie" about it. Even if we do keep it hidden, it's not "unfair". Being transgender and having a brain and body that don't match is what is unfair! I won't be able to father my own children, I might get rejected by some people just for being transgender. How do you think I feel? What about people who hide things like they used to be married or are married? They used to have an illness or something. That's perfectly alright for them to hide those things isn't it?

What you are trying to find out is very private medical information and absolutely none of your business. It is also illegal. I hope you get caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

whay you are asking is illegal, and involves computer fraud, wire fraud, mail fraud, a HIPPA medical records privacy act violation, etc.

don't do it, it is a federal offense.

Technically possible, I guess. But you'd have to be a real d**k to do so.
